My daughter is big into equestrian riding, at first I knew nothing about the sport. However, she helped educate me on all the finer points, and I found it fairly amusing to see her jump during competitions. However the sport is not cheap and I wanted to make sure the stable she was riding at was not overcharging us for equipment, it turns out they were. Thus began my great hunt to find well made yet affordable equestrian equipment. I scoured both retail and online stores, after much research I determined that online stores offered the best value. I bought some english saddles from the site, I saved a ton of money and the delivery was fast. I now do all my shopping at The Equestrian Corner, the site has excellent equipment and clothing at the best prices. Equestrian outfitting does not have to cost you an arm and a leg. I heart New York, thats why this weeks Tech Round Up takes a closer look at the big apple. Although it is one of America’s biggest city the tech capital of the United States has always gone to Silicon Valley, it may not be number one, but that does not mean New York should not be an important stop on any tech tour.

New York is famous for shopping, and that is why most attractions for the city are retail flagship stores. The Samsung Experience may look like a store, but it is an ‘experience center’ a place to hold tech events, try out the latest Samsung products, or get some technical advice. Nothing if for sale but its a prime stop for any tech tourist. Source

Next up is the very famous Apple flagship store. No doubt during the launch of the first iphone and then again with the iphon2 3G you would have seen news footage of devout fans lining up outside this iconic Apple retail store.

A trip to New York would not be complete without a stop at Nintendo World. A massive two story store located in the Rockefeller center.

I recently made the move to a new office and I decided it was also time to upgrade some of the office furniture. Filing cabinets and and shelves were easy enough to find but I had a lot of trouble finding office chairs that fit our new style. I looked all over town trying to find some classy elegant office chairs but all I could find where complected ugly mass manufactured monstrosities. My boss had seen a ton of digital signage on his last trip to Korea. As soon as he got back he scheduled a meeting with me and told me he wanted to aggressively start advertising using digital signage. He seemed very excited about it, so I promised I would crunch the numbers and do some research for him. He was so interested in it that he told me to drop everything I was working on and concentrate on this project. After a week my report was done, and sure enough the boss had reason to be excited, the numbers checked out, digital signage is an excellent way to attract customers attentions. He put me in charge of finding a company to purchase our signs from. While researching my report I came across Black Box, a company that provides digital signage, they had amazing prices and excellent solutions for businesses of all sizes. After only two weeks we had them up and running in our stores, I had never seen my boss so excited.

As usual Tech Travel week is once again bringing you the latest and greatest in tech travel news, this week has been another big one. While many of the attractions listed this week are things you actually can not go, we feel they still fall right into the category of tech travel tourism. Confused? The first item is a bit of sad news for Trekkie travelers, the Star Trek Mecca “Star Treck Experience” in Las Vegas has closed. The museum/rides was housed in the Hilton hotel, but the company was looking at bringing a more profitable attraction in for some time now. They must have found something new to go in there because the Star Trek attraction is out the streets looking for a new location. Source

Next up is some serious American ingenuity, although you can not necessarily visit these sites as a tourists these locations represent the future. Technology progressing in front of your eyes, now that is something to take note of in your tech travels.

The U.S.’s largest solar plant is located in sunny Nevada. Created by Solar One ACCIONA’s plant produces enough energy to power over 14,000 homes annually.

Next up is Space Port America, picture an airport, but instead of catching a flight to some other world city you take a trip to space. This is the concept that is being put into reality Las Cruces, New Mexio. Home to Virgin Galactic and a number of other small space tourism companies the project is poised to make New Mexico the world’s hub for space tourism.

After talking about Space travel, regular old ground transportation may sound a little boring. However, one company that’s developing some new train technology could revolutionize train travel in the United States. American Maglev is pushing magnetic levitation tech for use in urban transportation systems. They claim their methods are much cheaper then traditional Maglev trains. They are currently constructing a test track in Georgia, United States.

I like to travel to Las Vegas at least once a year, a few of my friends who have never been there before always ask me why I love going so much. I always tell them the same thing, you have to go there to truly understand how great Las Vegas is. None of the TV shows, Movies, or advertisements you see will do this city justice. Vegas has something for everyone, a major common misconception is that its only for people who like gambling, this is not true at all. Although I might play a few slots when I am there, I rarely spend more then a half hour of my time gambling on my Vegas vacations, there are a ton of other great attractions available. For me the best part of Las Vegas are the shows, there are always so many great shows happening, the best 20 shows in the world will always be playing somewhere is Las Vegas. If you have never been, do you self a favor and just go!
