Jeffers Discount Pet Supply

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Its always more convienent and often cheaper to buy goods online, and its never been easier, these days almost everything imaginable can be found online for a great price. I never though the day would come where I would be buying pet supplies online, but sure enough I found a great website with tons of gret things for my four legged friend.

Jeffers has a wide range of discount pet supples that are shipped right to your door. The site is very easy to navigate and finding the toys or food you need is a breeze. They have pet supplies for just about every common household pet, so your sure to find something, they even have a few treats for the pets owner. Using the site has saved me a lot of time and money. I would recommend the site to anyone who has or will soon have a pet.

World Happiness Map

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Scientists compiled a world happiness map that assigned each country a level of happiness based on surveys. The map is colored coordinated with dark red countries being the most happy, and yellow countries being the least happy. I was a little surprised by the results, I thought some poorer but stable countries would have performed better. I had read in previous studies that people with small incomes are the most happy in North America, but I guess even poor people are considered rich on a global level. So does money give you happiness? It appears so.

Urban Body Mens Clothing Studio

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Urban Body is an online clothing site specifically for urban males. The company carries a wide range of styles and brands, and most men will find something in their style. There is a great selection of both t-shirts and button ups with modern stylish designs.

While the malls are ok, if you like to look unique and don’t want to buy clothes that possibly hundreds of other people in your city will be wearing then Urban Body is for you. They carry a lot of brands that are harder to find in a lot of places, and its a safe bet you wont see a lot of these at the local mall. Their men’s fashion brands include Kinetix, 7 Diamonds, 3rd Born, and Energie. If your looking for some cool gear check out Urban Body.

Thos. Baker Teak Patio Furniture

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Regular readers of blog will know I absolutely love teak patio furniture, I love it so much I renovated my patio to better suite my teak furniture! I am always on the look out for new teak designers, companies, stores, etc… I recently found a site with fabulous site for teak furniture, the pieces are much more elegant then usual. They are the perfect pool side furniture additions, and would be right at home at an upscale country club or five store hotel pool.

All the pieces are created by Thos. Baker, a company based out of Bainbridge Island, Washington. I had hear the Thos. Baker name mentioned before, but I was still shocked by how beautiful their garden and patio furniture is. I was also surprised to find out its an American company, as the design looks very European or Scandinavian. As soon as I am ready for an upgrade I am buying from Thos. Baker, beautiful design and American made, its does not get any better then this!

California’s Computer History Museum

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

In homage to Silicon Valleys massive impact on the American/the worlds lifestyle, culture, and economy the Computer History Museum was constructed in California. Although the history of computing is longer then most people think, computers are still relatively knew in a historical sense. That said, no one would argue the impact they had had on humanity and the promising lifestyle and prosperous future they will bring us.

A recent addition to the Computer History Museum was a million dollar replica of Charles Babbage’s difference engine, donated my former Microsfoft CTO Nathan Myhrvold. Although you may not be able to match this donation the museum welcomes all contributions, but a word of warning, it already has enough mass produced consumer PC’s but rare software and manuals as well as historic pieces are always welcome.

Star Gate Cinema

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Have you ever wanted your own home theater? Of course you have who hasn’t? After seeing some pictures of the rich and famous’ home theaters online I decided to check out the price of building a more modest affordable home theater. Like most electronics consumers I have recently purchased a huge plasma TV, I had been looking for a good sound system to with it, but then I thought a that I could add some theater seating the give it a real cinema feel.

I came across Star Gate Cinema which supplies home theater accessories. They have everything you need to set up a home theater, including some beautiful theater style seating at reasonable prices. Although some people tend to overdue it a home theater is not out of reach to people with less extravagant incomes. If your dream includes a home theater I say go for it!

Nintendo’s Wii Fit Will Whip Me Into Shape, I hope

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I am very excited for the upcoming release of Wii Fit, for the Nintendo Wii game console. Wii Fit is a fitness game for the Wii, the game comes with a white fitness board. The board can sense different pressure on different areas of the board. So it can count your doing push ups or step ups on the board while a fitness session/game is running on screen. The game can also track your fitness progression over time.

There is also a decent number of mini games included in the Wii Fit set up. There is a soccer game where you try to head butt the ball while the Wii Fit board senses you movement from one side to the other.

It looks like another hit, it will most likely be the Wii’s most popular game after Wii sports that was included with each console. The game will be available this summer and cost $90.

Faucet Dot Com: The Source For Bathroom Faucets

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

After doing some work on the outside of the house I turned my attention indoors to my bathrooms. They are fairly new and did not need any repairs, but I wanted to upgrade their fairly generic look.

I went on my computer and one of the first sites I found was Facets Dot Com. True to their name the site has an excellent selection of bathroom faucets. The best feature of the site after its great products was the easy navigation. The sidebar allows you to search shower faucets by brand, style, or more importantly budget.

Although the $1000 faucets where very stylish, they were a little out of my price range. I found a stylish Kohler faucet for just over $100, which was almost $70 below their retail price. If you are looking for new faucets this site is by far the best.

It has become increasingly difficult over the past few years to find pocket watches, many of my local jewelers have stopped carrying them all together. The pocket watch industry has moved to new distribution methods, such as the Internet. I found I great site with some magnificent pieces. Jewel elegance sells genuine Charles Hubert pocket watches at fantastic prices. Forget your fancy new Dick Tracy digital watch and start thinking about a new pocket watch, a real mans watch!
