I was checking out Black Box Network Services site, marveling at all the high tech state of the art network equipment they were selling. I was amazed when I came across listings advertising fiber cable. Since my business is small to medium sized at best we have never had a need for fiber optics, but larger sized companies actually implement these into their networks.

Most of the cables listed did not have a price with them, as the price would be negotiated depending on the amount of cable required. However there was a listing for 500 feet of Multimode 50-Micron fiber optic bulk cable for only
$1879, a real bargain. I could not believe the great prices that Black Box Network Services were offering for such specialized equipment. If my business is ever read for its own fiber optic network I am definitely shopping with Black Box.

Although television shows, songs, and messages from earth have been broad casted into space before, Doritos will be the first company to intentionally send an advertisement into space.
Although some people are horrified that our first message to another species may be advertising a spicy tortia chip to me it sounds like a logical idea. If someone calls me and says, come over here and look at me, please! Chances are I am going to think they are insane or desperate for attention. However, if someone calls me up and offers me something I would like to purchase perhaps I will follow up on the message. I think provided whatever species is gets the transmission, if any, has a love for snack foods they will no doubt send someone out to sample the Doritos. Michael Callahan co-founder of Ambient Corporation presented a ‘telepathic’ necklace that reads its users thoughts and converts them to audio. Using the system he demonstrated the worlds first voiceless phone call while presenting at a Texas Instruments conference.
The necklace named Audeo translates the thoughts into speech my picking up nerve signals which are wirelessly delivered to a computer. The computer converts the nerve signals into words that are ’spoken’ by a computerized voice. Currently the necklaces program can only recognize 150 words or phrases, but Callahan compares this functionality to the early days of voice recognition software. He is currently developing a program that will be able to recognize individual syllables that can be used to say anything the user wants.
Having your private thoughts blurted out while wearing the necklace is not an issue as it takes a great deal of concentration to ’speak’ with the device.

Over 1,000 pre-school aged children are diagonosed with Cerebral Palsy each year. With so many cases being reported it is important for parents to be able to recognize Cerebral Palsy symptoms so they can quickly seek help if they suspect their child is suffering for Cerebral Palsy.
Signs of Cerebral Palsy may be visible from birth, but sometimes Cerebral Palsy will take months or even years to begin developing. A baby may stop responding to sounds, may lose some facial expression,, or may have difficulty following moving objects with its eyes. From there the child may have trouble moving its hands, rolling over, and getting up. Eventually children suffering from Cerebral Palsy are unable to crawl.

The trailer (see above) for Mike Meyers new movie called “The Love Guru” was recently released. In his latest film Myers plays India’s 2nd best love guru who is hired by the Toronto Maple Leafs to make a start player and his wife fall in love again.
The movie looks very similar to some of Meyers other work, and even features ‘mini me’. There will also be a cameo by Justin Timberlake who appears to be playing a French Canadian pizza delivery man. The movie which will most likely be set not to mention filmed in Toronto looks to be heavy on the Canadian content. Myers, a Canadian, is a long time fan on the Toronto Maple Leafs wil no doubt be playing his dream role in ‘the Love Guru’, but it remains to be seen if movie audiences share the same enthusiasm for the movie that Myers undoubtedly does.
