Don Hertzfeldt’s Classic: Rejected
Thursday, January 3rd, 2008
Its time for a look back to the year 2000, yes it was a long time ago for some and just like yesterday for others. The new millennium was being ushered in and everyone was freaking out over something called Y2K, can’t really remember what that was all about. Perhaps the most culturally enduring event of 2000 was Don Hertzfeldt’s short cartoon entitled Rejected. The cartoon was the foundation for random humor, where the less sense it makes the funnier it is. His work would be imitated and echoed through such modern works as the Simpons and Family Guy. If you are one of the few people in the world who have not yet watched this cartoon or need a refreshed. Check out Don Hertzfeldt’s: Rejected.
Canadian hip hop group Swollen Members have produced some of the most inovative hip hop in Canada to date. The group is completely independent under its own record label Battle Axe Records. Aside from creating five well rounded records since 1999 the band has designed its own shoe with DC Shoe Co, created their own headphones with Skull Candy, and designed their own clothing and accessories sold online and at their shoes.
